13+

There are three ways to enter the College at 13+ (Year 9):

  • ISEB 13+ Common Entrance papers taken in June of the year of entry.
  • College Entrance papers. These papers are designed for pupils from schools that do not offer Common Entrance preparation. On this route, candidates will sit papers in English or English for Foreign Students, Maths, and French if they have studied it for at least two years.
  • Academic Scholarship papers, set by the College, taken in March of the year of entry.

For pupils registered for College at least eighteen months before entry, and who are not at Cheltenham College Junior School, there is an Entrance Day which is designed to give parents peace of mind that places are secured well in advance of any of these entrance papers. Entrance Day for 2013 entry will take place on Thursday 2 February 2012. To find out more about Entrance Day please contact us.

Places are always reserved for pupils who register after the Pre-assessment papers, but this is not the preferred route particularly if you have a strong House preference, or are interested in a Day Boarding place. We are, however, flexible in our approach and happy to discuss individual circumstances.

Scholarships and bursaries are also available for entry at 13+.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us by email or on 01242 265 662 if you have any further questions or if you would like to register your child for this year's Entrance Day.
