About Us

Open to all golfing abilities, the OC Golfing Society is one of the largest and most active of the OC Sports Clubs with over 100 members. We play some of the best courses in the country; in fact our fixture list takes us to 10 of the top 100 courses in the UK!  Most of the Societies’ fixtures are open to all members and the Society offers an excellent opportunity to meet other OCs.  It is relatively inexpensive as most golf clubs offer us preferential rates against those normally charged to visitors.   Our Under 25 members receive a further subsidy from the Society.

The key members to contact are :

Charlie Elliott (Secretary) –
Christopher Griffiths-Jones (Captain) -

The Secretary can arrange for you to be signed up for membership at just £25 per annum.   This gives you the opportunity to play in our fixtures which are open to all and compete for selection where we enter an OCGS team.

We boast a membership from recent leavers to those with seven decades of experience.  All ages are welcome and one of the great attractions of golf is that you can participate against others of different abilities.

For those single figure handicappers the Society enter teams to represent College at all of the major meetings of the Public Schools Golfing Society and the Public Schools Old Boys Golf Association, including the Halford Hewitt,  Grafton Morrish,  G. L. Mellin Salver , Edward Harris Cup,  Midland Public Schools and the Alba Trophy. We have six matches against other public school golf societies and have an annual match against College. The Society has an annual Autumn Meeting that gives us the opportunity to duel against each other for some marvellous and historic silverware.

Recent new fixtures include matches against the OC Cricketers and Old Wellingtonians and a Summer Meeting at Minchinhampton GC close to the Cheltenham area.

We look forward to welcoming you along to join us!
