Autumn Concert

Autumn Concert

By Ankita Mediratta (L6, W)

On Monday 16 November the Music department held the Autumn Term Orchestral Concert.  From the Symphony Orchestra to the String Quartet, the evening demonstrated phenomenal musical talent from all the College pupils involved. Musical treats included: the Symphony Orchestra playing the theme tune for How to Train your Dragon; JIG performing Layla and Rather be; and the String Quartet treating us to the Allegro from Serenade No.13 in G major K.525 by Mozart. Other highlights included a rendition of Download’s Flow my tears by Freddie White (countertenor), Jasmine Ng (harp) and Verity Peterken (cello). In addition, Freddie White also played Highland Cathedral on the bagpipes, which really topped off the demonstration of musical diversity here at College! Not only did the evening showcase the enthusiasm and talent of all those involved, but also the immense dedication to music here. Many thanks must go to Mr McKee, our Director of Music, for his dedication and support - without which such enjoyable and inspiring concerts would not be possible.
