British Biology Olympiad Competition

British Biology Olympiad Competition

Twenty-six Cheltenham College pupils took part in the British Biology Olympiad Competition run annually by the Society of Biology. This year the more than 6,000 students from schools and colleges across the UK took part in the competition. There were two very challenging papers to complete, most of which stretch participants beyond the A Level syllabus. Students who achieve highly are awarded medals; gold, silver or bronze.

This year Hattie Bevan (U6, A) was awarded a Gold medal by scoring within the top 7% of the UK, and Marketa Stibalova (U6, Ch) came in the top 11% and was awarded a Silver medal; both fantastic achievements.
In addition, Matthew Finan (U6, S) and Anne-Marie Bowring (L6, Q) were Highly Commended, and William Wong (U6, S) and Ethan Dowling-Membrado (L6, L) were Commended. Hattie and Marketa will now be invited to an awards ceremony, details of which will be released in due course.
