There are many parents, OCs and friends of Cheltenham College who are willing to support young OCs by giving careers advice, offering work experience and speaking at careers events. The Association Careers Programme brings together these offers of knowledge, time and expertise. This programme is closely linked to the Higher Education Department, which supports students until they leave College.
We are keen to build up this area and would be delighted to have as many diverse and interesting opportunities to offer students as possible. Initially, financial services, property, law, medicine and media are areas of particular focus but all offers of help are very welcome.
The primary objective of this programme is to help young OCs gain real life experience in a variety of environments, develop employability skills and critically assess the range of future choices available. Careers talks take place in Big Classical to the whole Sixth Form and in Houses and Departments to specific groups several times each term. College is extremely grateful to the many OCs who come back to to deliver these invaluable talks.
