Cast begin Shakespeare Journey

Cast begin Shakespeare Journey

It’s festival season!

Year 6 and 8 casts taking part in this year's Shakespeare Schools Festival both enjoyed interactive casting workshops at Tewkesbury Roses Theatre, this week. The professional directors took each cast on a journey of discovery where they furthered their presentation and performance techniques and had the chance to study the specific characters and themes within their plays.

Both casts participated with other schools in the area which offered new dynamics to the casts: Year 6, presenting Hamlet worked with Secondary pupils from Winchcombe School and Year 8, performing The Taming of the Shrew, were joined by pupils from Alderman Knight School in Tewkesbury. In both cases, the results were energetic, engaging and profitable, and the workshop has paved the way for our joint production at The Roses Theatre on November 8, after Half Term.
