GCSE Results 2015
This year’s I/GCSE results have rivalled those of 2014 as the best ever in the history of College. 31 pupils achieved an outstanding 7A*s or more. Whilst College awaits the outcome of the ongoing investigation into national concerns over the quality of marking in the IGCSE English Language paper, 69% of grades have been at A* or A, and 88% at A*-B.
Duncan Byrne, Second Master, said, “What is so pleasing with these results is to see that since 2010 College has consistently improved its performance. If I look back to 2010 we had fewer than 20 students achieving 5 A*s or more and today we have 44. College is also hugely proud of those pupils who came to us with little history of academic achievement who have achieved top grades through their focused effort and with the unwavering support of their dedicated teachers. There is no better endorsement of our commitment to raising our academic attainment to put us clearly amongst the top performing schools and we have achieved this without any compromise on our outstanding extra-curricular and enrichment opportunities. My congratulations go to each of our pupils for their individual achievements and to all of our academic and pastoral staff whose care and professionalism has helped them to excel.”
A full set of College’s results will be published once final marks are through.
