More than 16 local primary schools and a total of 316 competitors descended onto the Prep playing fields to contest the flattest and fasted course in the Cheltenham District Cross Country League circuit this week. The girls ran first with 142 runners, followed swiftly by the boys with a whopping 174. Despite a packed and scrambling start, there were no tumbles in the first few metres of the race as is customary at most of these events.
Cheltenham Prep had some fantastic results; with a third placed girl and two more in the top 25 which bodes well for the girls team competition. The boys had a fifth place and a couple of impressive runs from the year 4's who were sure to be the youngest runners in the race! Everyone in the team gained a personal best placing so far this year; the home advantage obviously paid off and we really did rise to the occasion.
Well done to all who ran, you all made a supreme effort.
