Congratulations to the U14 Hockey team!

The U14 Girls Hockey team have qualified for the West Finals due to be held at Clifton College in late November. They were runners up from their County Cup round after matches on Tuesday 12 October, in which they beat Cheltenham Ladies College 1-0 with a goal from Beth Jenkins (3rd, Q) in their first game but lost out to Dean Close 0-1 in the second.

Head of Hockey, Mr Gwyn Williams commented, “The girls have come on considerably in recent weeks and are now starting to play the hockey that reflects their potential."

In the last week the girls have faced a strong Marlborough team on Saturday, and in a highly charged and wonderfully skilled display drew 1-1. They also played in the inaugural ISHL Sixes held at College on Sunday and qualified for the plate competition. This qualifying match for the West Finals comes hot on the heels of the U16 team being crowned County Champions last week! Our congratulations to all girls involved.
