The Reception classes were out of this world on Thursday with a visit to @Bristol Science Museum.
The trip, which contributed to the Journey into Space Topic which Reception class have been enjoying this term, began with a fantastic session in the planetarium. The boys and girls learnt about planets and star constellations. It was a little scary being in a dark room but as the telescope opened and the night sky appeared, the children were mesmerised by the stars!
Everyone then had the opportunity to explore the rest of the museum and try many hands-on Science activities. They turned their hands to everything: milking a cow, gathering honey and playing with bubbles - to name but a few!
Each Term in Reception, the children enjoy activities inspired by a new topic, allowing classes to explore a variety of subjects whilst capturing their imagination. Previous topics have included Imaginary Worlds, Dinosaurs and Festivals. Head of Kingfishers Pre-Prep, Mrs Rachael Buttress said "The children have had a wonderful time on their trip to @Bristol! Experiencing all the hands-on Science activities really helps to broaden the children's horizons and inspires their playing and learning back in School."
