A group of 50 Lower Sixth students spent an afternoon packing Christmas hampers for the charity Hamper Scamper, which will be given to local disadvantaged families. The pupils helped to pack, sort and stock count the food and presents that will be given to those in need. The charity is currently making use of the old BHS store in Regent Arcade in Cheltenham and will pack 1500 hampers in total!
The students were praised for the enthusiasm that they showed by the manager, Chris Knight, and also for going about their work with a smile on their faces. It was particularly touching to see the presents arranged according to what children had asked for at Christmas. The students left with the impression that Chris and his team were as close to Father Christmas as the real thing! They hope to support this charity more as they move into the Upper Sixth next year. A very worthwhile cause indeed.
