International Pupils' Social

International Pupils' Social

By Yury Kovalev (U6, Xt)

On Wednesday 23 September, Mr Nelson and I held a social for the pupils, teachers and pupil helpers who attended the international induction program at the start of this academic year. The pupils had a chance to see their friends from the induction that they may have not seen since and we all had a lot of fun! Upper College and Lower College integrated really easily and it was amazing to see all the relationships that were formed during the induction resurfacing. The event included snacks, music, socializing, short speeches from myself and Mr Nelson, as well as a funny speech from Ted Kim (4th, H). We also had an opportunity to watch a video that encapsulated the events during one of the days of the program. It included a successful rowing introduction session for boys and girls with some impressive ergo results on both fronts, as well as the bowling. Overall, I personally was certainly impressed by how enthusiastic and sociable the new international students were and how well they fitted in to the College community.
