Four students from Cheltenham College
are celebrating their offers from Oxbridge for September 2014:
Chris Bowring (U6, S) to read History
at Trinity College, Cambridge; Libby Caffrey (U6, W) to read Classics
and French at Exeter College, Oxford; Elliot Lau (U6, BH) to read Mathematics
at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge and Jan Haas (OC) to read PPE at Oxford.
College prepares potential Oxbridge applicants from the Spring term of the Lower Sixth with a series of tutorials with Oxbridge mentors selected form the teaching staff. External mock interviews are held in both the Summer and Winter terms and tutorials are increased that term to cover preparation for any aptitude tests. Last year we took interested pupils to an Oxford Open Day and this year we are planning to attend the Oxford and Cambridge Conference being held in Swansea. Throughout the whole process the Higher Education Department monitors and meets with pupils to ensure that they are receiving, reading and acting upon any feedback and that progression is being made.
Our congratulations to these students.
We wish them the very best of luck in their future academic endeavours.
