Cheltenham College Prep School were very excited to welcome a pair of furry, hoofed friends just before the end of term.

Children in Kingfishers had a very special visit from two young “reindeer-in-training”.

Accompanied by a sleigh on wheels for the perfect photo opportunity, Cheltenham Prep pupils learned about how the reindeer (one from Norway and one from Sweden) have large feet for walking on snow and ice and how they love to eat Arctic lichen moss. The children were able to take a little piece of moss home to put on their doorstep on Christmas Eve for some magical friends to nibble on as they pass by.

Rachael Buttress, Head of Kingfishers commented, “it was lovely for the children to have a chance to pet and feed the reindeer and they are looking forward to their visit from Father Christmas and his reindeer.”

The visit brought smiles to the children’s faces in the run up to Christmas and the end of term.
