Shocking Visit to Science Centre

22 pupils from Gloucester Road Primary School in Cheltenham visited Cheltenham College Preparatory School to have fun in the new, university-standard Science labs and learn about electricity.

Working with Cheltenham Prep Science staff to carry out experiments, the Year 6 boys and girls built fruit batteries, used the Van Der Graaff machine to investigate static electricity and had balloon races. “They had great fun using the Van De Graaff generator and took turns to use the flow of electrons to make their hair stand on end or ‘shock’ their friends, which proved to be great fun!,” said Mrs Faye Wells, Head of Science at The Prep. Cheltenham Prep enjoys a longstanding relationship with Gloucester Road Primary School, and looks forward to welcoming it's pupils to the Prep in the future.
