From the 30th July to 28th August James White, Amy Foulkes and Sami Weyers will be cycling from Berlin to Florence, passing through Prague, Vienna and Venice on their way.
This will be achieved completely unsupported and with no backup - just the students and their tents! As well as raising money for their chosen charities, Mercy Ships and the orphanage at Bradet in Romania, they will also be undertaken a number of investigations on their trip.
James will be looking at the East-West divide, studying history "in the field" of Renaissance Italy, World War Two and the Cold War. At the same time, Amy will be examining the effects of endurance cycling on body composition and aerobic fitness.
The aim is to cycle around 65 miles a day, with rest days in cities, but at the height of summer this will be a severe test of fitness and mental strength.
