Most Houses have a clan or tribe structure in place to promote bonding between year groups. Queen’s has six families named after crown jewels (the House’s emblem). The families gather informally throughout the year and also organise a big competition every term, where they collect points for their family to win a cup that is awarded on Speech Day. The Summer Term marks their annual Garden Olympiad, which is always pupil led. This year’s Lower Sixth girls have been creative with stations such as balloon darts, wheelbarrow relay, water pong, lucky dip, catch the egg and doughnut race; all of which required teamwork, tactics, and bringing the girls in House closer. The afternoon was filled with fun, friendship, and laughter.
