Top Rowers Train at Site of World Championships

During the Easter holidays, Cheltenham College Boat Club took 27 rowers to Lake Aiguebelette in France, home to the 2015 World Rowing Championships. The squad included the entire First VIII and Girls First IV squads, in addition to a number of our J15 rowers. With three rowing sessions each day and 4-6 hours of revision, every rower displayed outstanding work ethic to maintain high standards whilst enjoying the opportunity to make great progress on the water. While the trip primarily focused on rowing and revision, we also journeyed into the local city of Chambéry to visit the cathedral and soak up some French culture (and coffee!).

Throughout the week, the high levels of motivation, dedication, and drive to succeed shone through from every rower and each and every member of the team was a huge asset to College. We are now very much looking forward to building on the momentum gained throughout the camp moving into the summer term. I am incredibly proud of the entire training camp squad, and a huge thank you to a fantastic coaching team without whom such a great experience would not have been possible.
