14 year old College pupil Fran Ball (3rd Form, Chandos) has achieved something that many people only ever dream of; she wrote, produced and recorded her own song 'Hey Soldier', coming up with the music as well as the lyrics.

Inspired by lessons about WW1, as well as plaques in College Chapel and news coverage of the conflict in Afghanistan, the talented singer (and pianist!) put pen to paper and produced a moving track which she has made available for purchase online, with all proceeds going to the veterans' charity 'Help for Heroes'.

The song has already been downloaded by hundreds of people and just goes to show what can be achieved with talent, determination and compassion.
