BBQ Season has started

The summer term has certainly been living up to its name in terms of the weather, which has meant that the BBQ season has well and truly arrived in Newick.

On Friday night, the Upper 6th joined Mr and Mrs Llewellyn in their garden for the inaugural House BBQ of the summer, celebrating both the Royal Wedding and the end of their A level mocks. With Archie Larthe and Harry Smart to the fore, the boys enjoyed a feast of sausages and burgers, all accompanied by Mrs Llewellyn's favourite South African speciality, Mrs Ball's Chutney.

Then on Saturday, the whole House came for garden cricket, trampolining and BBQ after a hard afternoon on the cricket pitch. There were numerous reasons to celebrate - five of the House had played for the 1st XI who beat Radley at Radley; James Hope had scored his 2nd century for the College; and Mrs Llewellyn had bought an excellent batch of Boerewors which just had to be devoured! All in all, a great evening was had by all, and the BBQs will certainly be just the first of many.
