Business Studies covers a wealth of business related topics such as the types of ownership, finance, objectives, leadership styles, motivation and pay, marketing, accounting and stock and quality control, as well as the understanding of economics, society and law. It is is a particularly popular subject and extremely useful to study, even if it will not automatically lead to massive pay cheques or one's own business empire! It is also a subject that can be progressed at a later date, with many pupils going on to study the subject at university.
Business Studies is based on what happens in society and is therefore very practical in its approach. The course aims to enable pupils to examine critically the aims, objectives and practice. Pupils have to come up with their own solutions and support them with well-reasoned argument.
