Coal Mining in the classroom

Having moved on from the Agrarian Revolution, we have started looking at the Industrial developments. Having discussed Newcomen's invention of the Steam engine, we have moved onto coal mining. A coal "seam" was rigged up in the classroom, and the various roles were acted out. We filmed this as a reminder for the pupils - they are dressed in their own clothes as this was a "mufti" day for charity. Two sets, named after French Revolutionary groups, took part in the filming.
