  • L6th Return From Malham Easter Break

    For the first four days of the Easter holiday, while other students were unwinding, the L6th geographers set off for 4 days in the glorious sunshine of the Yorkshire Dales. Based at the Malham Tarn Field Study Centre the students were immersed in the syllabus from dawn until dusk (and into the night!) as they studied glacial and periglacial features, flood management in Skipton and evening sessions focussing on relating their studies to the forthcoming examinations.   • 3rd Form Visit Cadburys World

    What does Cadburys World have to do with Geography? Well nothing – apart from globalisation, development, links to LEDCs such as Ghana, Transnational Corporations, emerging world markets, Fairtrade, sustainability, water stress, working conditions, carbon footprint, sectoral shift and the impact on Cheltenham of the closure of Kraft Cadbury Head Office! On Monday 14th November the entire Third Form set off for the Bournville site which has been the home of Cadburys since 1854.

  • 4th Form River Environments Fieldtrip

    Before half term the 4th Form deployed to the Forest of Dean to experience at first hand flood management and data collection strategies relevant to the River Environments topic.

  • L6th Sand Bay Coastal Fieldtrip

    The Geography Department recently visited Sand Bay in Somerset and the Coastal trip for the L6th was a successful day despite the gale force winds.
