Thursday 20th January saw the 2nd ever 'Girls' Night In' at CCJS. It is a night that just makes you proud to be female and many males run away as far as possible! It all started fairly early on as the incredible dishes of raspberry chocolate cake, sausage rolls, salmon wraps, crisps, cupcakes, rockie road and dips came streaming into the kitchen. The feast was quite impressive, requiring three additional tables just to hold it all!
The girls enjoyed the food they brought in whilst sipping on a number of 'mocktails'; oh the delicious taste of a 'Shirley Temple' and 'Apple Fizz' and the sugar shakes which follow!
Then it was time to crank up the music and let the fun begin. A game of peg snatching started off the fun, followed by the very popular dress design and catwalk competition. The girls designed dresses that the likes of Matthew Williamson and Chloe would be envious of. Fishtails, mini skirts, wedding dresses and more all created from just newspaper and bin bags!
We ended our evening in the kitchen (well, dining hall), forming brand new teams with one challenge to create the most impressive cake against all other competition. It was quite a sight as we saw a Jenga cake, a levitating cake as well as some rather beautiful pieces that you would gladly have bought from a professional.
Year 6 and 7 girls, I hope you made new friends and will enjoy their company well into the future. Thank you for being so much fun and I look forward to doing it all again some time soon!
