After the chaos of the Chritmas Feast in House, and the hilarity of Head of House, Guy Mitchell's speech, it was time to turn to more serious matters with the awarding of a new House Prefect and House Colours. George Sandbach was made a House Prefect, for the excellent example he sets, the high standards he wants to see in the House, and his willingness to serve and help others.

Also awarded were House Colours for the contributions to House and College: James Strutt (Drama), George Barnett (Music and Cricket), Will McNeile (Music), Jack Smart (Sport, esp. Hockey), and Arthur Hopkinson (Sport and Leadership - Head of Sweat).
The highlight of the awards were the presentation of Cornflower Ties, the most prestigious ties in the House. These are only ever awarded to those boys who make outstanding contributions to House and College. This year they were awarded to Guy Mitchell (Head of House), Fred Nesbitt (Deputy Head of House) and Nick Knudsen (Senior College Prefect).
Yet perhaps the greatest applause of the night was saved for a very special Cornflower award. Angela Barnett, House matron of 24 years, has been one of the House's greatest supporters and contributers. Working tirelessly with utter humility, it was a great pleasure to award her the cornflower tie, which Major Clark had turned into a broach.
The Christmas Feast was a wonderful occasion, full of fun and family spirit, with the Upper 6th and tutors joining Mr and Mrs Llewellyn in the private side for a post-prandial drink afterwards.
