Over half-term, whilst the boys were away, the decorators moved in to begin giving Newick House a little bit of a face-lift. The basement was repainted, and some new rooms created. The full-sized snooker table remains, but there is now a modernised TV room, Games room (with Table Football and Air Hockey), and a quiet sitting room for the House Peer Mentors to use. Mr Llewellyn also has plans to create a Weights Room and Music Room down there.
The other space to receive a make over was the Function Room, which has often been an underused area of the House. It has now been furnished with tables and other furniture to make it into a social working space, and it has been great to see 6th formers using it regularly, either reading or studying together.
