Independent Schools Hockey League

Last season saw the top flight of hockey playing independent schools create their own league to challenge and stretch their hockey players above and beyond the standard school fixtures.

Co-founded by Radley, Marlborough and Cheltenham College, the league initially comprised of Abingdon School, Bradfield College, Cheltenham College, Marlborough College, Radley College, St Edward’s School, Oxford and Wellington College. The inaugural season saw the schools’ 1st XI teams compete for the Charles Baker Cup (named after a hockey master at Radley) which was won by St Edward’s, Oxford.

2011 now sees the expansion of the league to include Eton College and to offer competitions at for ‘A’ team at U16/15 and U14 level. Ultimately, leagues will be created for all teams at all age groups for each school.

All ISHL results are uploaded onto Fixtures Live and players, parents and staff can keep updated on all results and goal-scorers from whatever league they wish to look at. See www.fixtureslive.com
