SOUTH LEAGUE
The ISHL was set up in 2009 by a group of hockey playing schools in the Oxon/Berks/Wilts/Gloucs area, namely Wellington, Cheltenham, Marlborough, Eton, Radley, St Edward's, Bradfield and Abingdon. The success of the 1st XI league led to the ISHL evolving in 2010 to cater for every A team in the school, with the results being inputted into Fixtures Live. In 2012 we are taking another step forward and expanding the leagues to incorporate more teams in school. Also there will be in place an Indoor competition as well as a title going to the school with the most wins overall from all the leagues. The leagues have also emerged amongst other schools throughout the UK, with the hope that there will be a winner from each ISHL league in a Finals Day.
The 2011 season saw Cheltenham perform at a consistently high level throughout all the leagues. The 1st XI finished strongly with three game unbeaten run to finish 3rd , the Colts A won their age group being unbeaten throughout the campaign. The Junior Colts A came a respectful third only losing two games, both to the teams above them and the Yearlings A managed joint third, though their two wins came against teams above them.
