On 16th November the College Chamber Choir will visit Trinity College, Cambridge to sing a Joint Choral Evensong with the Trinity College Choir. Trinity College Choir is one of the greatest of all Oxbridge choirs and has just returned from a highly acclaimed tour of Australia. It has also recently released a spectacular recording of choral and organ works by David Briggs so the invitation is extremely exciting.
Stephen Layton will work with our choir, a tremendous privilege and rewarding experience. After this we will be joined by the Trinity College Choir - amongst them current choral scholar and OC (BH 07-09) Guy James. Together the two choirs will sing a service of Choral Evensong which begins at 6.15pm. The music will include the glorious Gloucester Service by Herbert Howells and other well known choral pieces.
In Oliver Butler's (U6, XT) words: "It is good that the reputation of our College Chamber Choir is beginning to move in such circles
and we are looking forward to it very much!"
In the meantime, click here to hear the College Chamber Choir sing 'Lux Aurumque' by Eric Whitacre - this term in College Chapel.
