Library

There are three separate libraries in the school, each serving the needs of the different ages of the pupils using them.

•    Kingfisher library, housed in the Infant Department.
•    Lower School library, based in a separate building catering for Years 3 and 4
•    Middle/Upper School library for Years 5 to 8 in the main school building.

Each year all pupils in Years 3 to 8 have a series of library lessons in which they take part in fun activities to get to know the library stock. All three libraries are well used by pupils and teachers for quiet reading, class research, or as a place to chill out and chat with friends.

The libraries are open throughout the school day, at break times and lunch times and in the evenings when the main school library is used for prep by the boarding house. Each pupil may borrow two books at any one time for two weeks.

We produce Reading Lists for Years 3 to 8 and hold Book Fairs and run the Puffin Book Club twice a year.

We celebrate events such as World Book Day, National Poetry Day and National Storytelling Week. Every Tuesday we run storytime sessions led by a different member of staff. We also regularly host the Gifted and Talented Young Writer's Workshop in conjunction with the Cheltenham Literature Festival.

The library is an exciting place to be!
