Maths Society

Manfredi de FilippoA Word from Our President

The Cheltenham College Mathematical Society, known as the Maths Soc, is a very active and upcoming society. Our goal is to allow everyone interested in maths, or logic, to expand his or her knowledge of the subject in an enjoyable way. When we say “Maths” people usually think about enormous equations swirling around endless whiteboards; yet, this is not always the case. The Maths Soc meets a few times a term and members present papers on anything ranging from the history of a particular mathematician to mind twisting puzzles. We also attend other talks by mathematicians given in the local area. We encourage all the members of College to participate, this society is not just for those in the top sets.
