On November 18th, the Newick House concert took place in TLG, featuring a variety of acts from across all year groups. Nick Knudsen (U6) and Will McNeile (U6) gave superb classical performances on the piano and clarinet respectively, whilst the House’s very own saxophone quartet entertained with some lively jazz pieces. There were also some acoustic guitar song renditions from Fred Nesbitt (U6) and George Barnett (U6), as well as a hilarious version of Jay-Z’s New York, (renamed “Newick”) from the House’s resident tutor, Mr Arnold.
The evening was most warmly received by a large audience. It was fantastic to see so much ability on show, as well as be part of such a warm and colourful evening. Next term sees Newick team up with Ashmead for a House play, where we will see even more boys develop their gifts in what will hopefully prove to be another successful evening.
