The CDT department at the Junior School was once complimented by a school inspector as being ‘like a film set’ and he’s not far off!
The workshops are very well equipped, lined with shelves displaying both pupil-projects under construction and interesting accessories such as a collection of model ‘live steam’ engines, and boat model making gear.
The workshop has been designed to look as if it has always been there, incorporating a lot of the original furniture and fittings from its previous life as a boys’ common room. Added to this is a large range of woodwork machinery and light engineering equipment, as well as plenty of bench space where generations of children have built an enormous range of l3d projects.
Finally, complementing this is an adjoining classroom with facilities for drawing out a design, as well as producing and equipping electronic items. There are also plenty of facilities for textile work.
