Prefects Charity Event

Prefects Charity Event

This coming weekend (2/3 February) the College prefects will attempt a 24-hour Duathlon in aid of ‘Care for the Family’. Over the 24 hours the prefects, working in shifts, will complete 12 hours of running and 12 hours of cycling.

This year, as their chosen charity, the prefects have selected ‘Care for the Family’ a national charity which aims to promote strong family life and to help those who face family difficulties. ‘Care for the Family’ offers support and advice to families that are undergoing periods of difficulty, whether it be divorce or bereavement.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of ‘Care for the family’ founded in 1998 by Rob Parsons. Family is a central part of the College community and this charity emphasizes the importance of strong bonds between individual family members. For information on ‘Care for the Family’ please visit their website:

This year’s 24-hour event will be the fourth consecutive prefect driven charity event. The prefects have set a target to raise £8,000 for ‘Care for the Family’ and will need your help to reach this goal.  All donations are greatly appreciated and if you would like to contribute, please donate online by visiting:

Their training is under way and you can follow the prefects progress on their twitter page:

We wish the prefects the best of luck!
