On Saturday 18th June, Newick held their annual Prefects' Dinner to thank and celebrate the hard work and success of this year's House Prefects.

As well as the matrons and tutors of the House, guests also included Martin and Diane Stovold for their first official visit back to the House after their departure from Newick. It was great to see them back and on such good form, especially as they had so much influence on the lives of the Prefects.

The event was due to take place outside in the Llewellyn's garden, but last minute plans had to be made on discovering several leaks in the marquee. Fortunately Newick has just the man for such a crisis, as the adjutant, a loyal tutor in the House, swept into action and before you know it, the Common Room was set up, candelabra, balloons and all, ready for a fantastic evening.

Guests arrived to a champagne reception, followed by a fantastic three course meal, all waitered by next year's House Prefects. After the meal, Mr Llewellyn said a few words about this great group of boys, as well as marking Major Clark's contribution to the CCF by presenting him with a small gift from the boys in the House. Then followed a fantastic speech by Head of House, Guy Mitchell, before Mr Llewellyn completed the formalities, by awarding their Prefects Ties to the incoming group. They certainly have some big shoes to fill.
