Report from Upper School
Last Friday, Upper School went to the Literature Festival to see Phillip Reeve. He talked about his books,
'Mortal Engines' and his life. He really inspired me to expand my reading and to explore more
genres of books that normally I wouldn't choose to read. He was very interesting and everyone in Upper
School enjoyed the experience.

Report from Middle School
At the Literature Festival this year, Middle School saw Paul Stewart [writer] and Chris Riddel [illustrator] talk about their books. While Paul Stewart was talking, Chris RiddeI drew some amazing pictures that were projected onto a huge screen. Their books sound brilliant and very funny and I want to read them.

Following the visit, Preet Gosal used some of the wonderful characters and writing tips that Stewart and Riddell shared to write a story. This is just the beginning, if you like it and want to know more, Preet may be available at next year’s Literature Festival!
Twig wandered aimlessly through Deep Woods. The flowers were blossoming and the Lullabee trees were whispering in the wind, sharing their secrets. Twig still had his hair in plaits and around his neck he wore his comfort cloth that was once his birthing shawl. Twig loved the Lullabee trees but he knew not to touch them, if he did he would fall into a deep sleep and dream magical dreams.
