The Houses are at the heart of life at College. All Houses operate in much the same way in terms of day-to-day life, but each has its individual character influenced, not just by the Housemaster or mistress, but also by the pupils within it. 

We have 10 Houses in total, all located around the perimeter of the campus. Each House is run by a resident Housemaster or mistress and their family, resident and non-resident tutors and matrons. They are a true home away from home, the hub of life at College and the basis for forming lifelong friendships.

The House allocation process is straightforward. We try to meet any preferences expressed, but always ensuring a good balance of individuals, talents and backgrounds across all Houses. As we aim for no more than 4-5 pupils from an individual prep school per house, it is wise to express two preferences. This allows the move from prep school to the College to be both a continuum as well as an opportunity for a new beginning. 

As a rule of thumb, if you do have a strong House preference, you are advised to register it a minimum of 2 years before entry. Your House allocation will not be confirmed until after the offer of a place has been made.
