Congratulations to Bea Martin-Harrington who has been selected for the English Schools' squad for the International School Sport Federation (ISF) World Schools Ski Championships.
Bea has trained with the English Schools' squad for four seasons and this is the first year she has been selected for the bi-annual World Schools Ski Championships. The training weeks consist of a mixture of snow training and fitness work and she supplements this training with the British Ski Academy in Les Houches.
This winter Bea plans to spend a couple of weeks with BSA in February (term time so a mixture of skiing 07:30 - 13:00 and then schooling in the afternoon), to compete in the English Championships in Bormio, Italy over half term. She will then return back to the UK for a couple of weeks to fit in some County Hockey training and schoolwork before returning to Italy for the World School Event, followed by the Inter Schools Championships in Les Houches, France the following week, along with some other racers from Cheltenham College Junior School.
Our Sports Professional Mr Lane is working on an intensive programme for her as part of College's Talented Athlete Programme (TAP) so it's going to be a very busy but exciting time for Bea over the next few months!
Well done, Bea. We wish you every success.
