On Saturday 30th April Cheltenham College's senior four competed at Evesham Regatta in The Evesham Journal Cup, against nine other crews from around the country. In the first round they confronted (and beat!) the local crew from Evesham, who had eliminated Bedford Rowing Club.
The crew then progressed through to the semi final, in which they eliminated Monmouth School B. Monmouth School A was the contending crew in the Final, but the College crew rowed outstandingly to clinch the victory.
The rather sizeable Cup, which was made for the regatta in 1937, will now carry Cheltenham College's name upon it – a great achievement.
The crew now travel to Thames Ditton this Saturday to take on the strength of the London Clubs – we wish them luck.
