Westal

WestalA small House with a big spirit would be a very apt way to describe Westal.

Westal is a Sixth Form House and we are unique in our composition as we cater for full boarders, day boarders and day girls. Although our girls cover the whole spectrum of the College pupil population, there is no division and the girls have formed a close-knit community and are loyal and supportive of the House and one another. Our boarding rooms are very spacious and comfortable.

There is an outstanding work ethic in our House and the Westal girls are regularly rewarded for their academic achievements. The team spirit displayed at various sporting and College events has elicited many positive comments. On the social side the girls participate in theatre trips, pizza evenings, House parties and barbeques and family quiz nights.

Westal is also unique in its layout and setting, as it consists of a complex of cottages with its own garden on one side of the House. There is easy access to all areas of the College from here.

It is the shared aim of myself as Housemistress, Mrs Amy Chapman (Resident Tutor) and Mrs Kamala Boardman (Matron) to provide a happy and secure environment for the girls who have been entrusted to our care. We work together to run a House where the girls will feel welcome and comfortable and where they will be encouraged to achieve the best they possibly can, in every sphere of their lives at College.
Do feel free to come and visit us, you would, indeed, be very welcome.

Sue Jackson, Westal Housemistress
