Life in Kingfishers
The very first years of your child’s school life are the most important of all. You need to be confident that you are choosing the school that is right for them.
A school that has the comforts of home but offers the structure of supportive education too. A school with an environment that is rewarding and enriching. Above all, a school that will allow your child to grow into a well-rounded, happy and confident individual prepared for the next stage of their life.
It’s a vision we share in Kingfishers.
We care passionately about the development of the young people we look after, nurturing their interests and making sure they grow their natural curiosity and love of learning.
Kingfishers is the Pre-Prep part of Cheltenham Prep. Your child can join us from the term in which they turn 3. He or she is with us until they are 7 years old, when they move on to Lower School within The Prep.
Life in Kingfishers is in two stages.
- Early Years Foundation Stage covers our Nursery and Reception years. Nursery is for children of 3 and 4 attending for a minimum of two days a week while Reception is for children of 4 and 5 attending full time.
- Key Stage One covers Year 1, for children of 5 and 6, and Year 2, for children of 6 and 7. in both years, your child will attend full time.
We have small class sizes so we can give each child the individual attention, focus and love of learning they need. You can find out more about our approach to teaching in How We Learn.
We recognise that you know your child better than anyone. We always include you in your child’s learning journey and make sure you feel part of our school community. You can find out more about our ethos in How We Care.
