Nursery – Year 2

Our award-winning* Nursery School opened in 2022 and was built specifically to be an early years learning with free-flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. Your child can join the Nursery the term after they turn three years old and once they are potty-trained.

When your child joins us in Reception, Year 1 and/or Year 2, they are based in their own teaching and learning area where no class size is bigger than 18 and each class has a teacher and a teaching assistant. There are approximately 30 children in each year group, split between two classes.

*Voted the Best Nursery in the South West in 2023 by parents from daynurseries.co.uk.

Years 3 & 4

Our Year 3 and 4 pupils are based in their own building right next to our playing fields and lake, with their own playground space. Learning becomes more structured, and your child enjoys a broader curriculum, with specialist teaching for Science, Art and Sport – with twice weekly fixtures played against local schools.

Years 5 & 6

Pupils in our Years 5 and 6 develop skills in independence and confidence as their learning now takes place in specialist classrooms for Science, Languages, Computing and Humanities. With around 90 pupils spread across seven classes, Sport and Games involve everyone with multiple teams playing at fixtures. Music, Drama and Art is taught across the week and is also a huge part of our co-curricular offering. Your child will find they have plenty of activities to choose from and some they may not have even tried before!

Years 7 & 8

Our Years 7 and 8 are at the top of the Prep School, and they gain greatly from being leaders and mentors to younger pupils, whilst following an academically ambitious curriculum aligned to GCSE pathways at College. Pupils begin to develop the subject depth, study habits and intellectual independence needed for future GCSE success, while still benefiting from the close pastoral care and size of the Prep School.

When your child joins us in Year 7, they are offered a tied place at Cheltenham College for entry into Year 9, giving confidence and reassurance on the next stage of their educational journey.
