Cheltonian Society Assistant
Cheltenham College seeks to appoint a strong people-focussed and sociable administrator for the role of Cheltonian Society Assistant.
The postholder is one of the first points of contact for Society Members (formed of past and present pupils, parents and staff) giving a great initial impression of College and the Society, assisting with the running of the annual calendar of Society events, undertaking general administration for the team including using the ToucanTech database, and running tours and visits under the direction of the Cheltonian Society Manager.
The role will include attending the majority of the Society events which usually take place at weekends or evenings (for which time of lieu will be given) and there may also be a requirement to attend Society events in London.
Full details of the role and person specification can be found in the job description link, but it is vital that applicants have: strong interpersonal skills, including an excellent telephone manner, for communicating with suppliers, Old Cheltonians, parents, pupils, and all staff as well as the enthusiam and drive needed to act as a host to our events, presenting a calm exterior in the face of logistical challenges.
Terms of the role
- 37.5 hours per week (normally 8.30am to 5.00pm with an hour for lunch), although a degree of flexibility will be required to suit the needs of the business, which may include weekends as requested by the Line Manager, and for which time off in lieu will be given.
- This is a term time (plus 5 weeks) role for 38 weeks per year, although this is subject to negotiation with the right candidate.
- Salary: Dependent on experience and based on a full-time equivalent of £22,990.50 – £25,389.00 per annum. (Pro-rata: this will be adjusted to between £18,828.60 to £20,792.91 per annum)
