Closing date for application: 19/03/2025

Interview date: 25/03/2025

For September 2025, a well-qualified and experienced teacher of both Economics and Business is required to lead this highly successful department. The successful candidate will provide vision for the development of the subject, strong leadership and skilful team management. Knowledge and experience of BTEC or Cambridge Technical Business, in addition to A Level, would be desirable.

The College continues to grow and develop, and there is significant focus on academic standards and optimising pupils’ attainment. The appointee will have the scope to review every aspect of the department and to contribute to the wider academic and intellectual development of the College as a whole.

There is potential to take up accommodation on site (subject to availability) as a Resident Tutor in one of our Boarding Houses.

The Head of Department will teach a reduced timetable.

The Department

The department, which consists of six members of staff, is characterised by a real sense of confidence, enthusiasm and enjoyment.

Students study the AQA A Level specification and the OCR Cambridge Technical for Business, and Edexcel A Level for Economics. Both subjects are among the most popular in the school and related degree courses are the most popular choices for university applications amongst College leavers, a large number going on to study these subjects at leading universities in both the UK and abroad.
