For a fixed period of maternity cover (January 2023 – December 2023), College seeks to appoint an outstanding Head of French. The Head of French is responsible, via the Head of MFL, to the Deputy Head (Academic) and ultimately the Head, for the teaching, leadership, administration and development of French in the Senior School. The Head of French is a member of the Heads of Departments’ Committee.

At College, there is significant focus on academic standards and the need for rising levels of attainment. The appointee will have the scope to review aspects of the department and to contribute to the wider academic and intellectual development of the College as a whole. It will be an ideal post for someone looking to move on to a Senior Leadership post in due course.

The College has its own salary scale, and applicants will wish to contribute to College’s rich co-curricular programme. The Head of French can expect to teach a reduced timetable.
