Rowing Coaches
For a January 2022 start, Cheltenham College is looking to recruit a number of dynamic, encouraging Rowing Coaches who have strong experience in rowing or in coaching rowing.
The postholder will coach a group within the squad to a high standard and, in conjunction with the Director of Rowing, be responsible for implementing the training program and coaching systems needed to take the Boat Club to success.
It is essential that applicants have a genuine passion for the sport of rowing and are able to motivate students within their rowing group.
RYA Powerboat Level 2 is essential. British Rowing Coach Level 2 and Minibus License would be desirable.
Although this is a zero-hours role, Rowing Coaches work approximately 10 hours per week during term time and normal working days are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with a mix of land training at College and water training at Tewkesbury. Additional rowing sessions do occasionally take place on other days.
Rowing’s main season at College is in the Spring and Summer Terms (January until July), but is also on offer for some pupils during all 3 terms, though your main period of work is likely to be in the main season.
Hourly rate will be dependent upon coaching level and experience. Prior to applying, if you would like to discuss any preliminary questions you might have, please email the Director of Rowing, Nick Moffatt: n.moffatt@cheltenhamcollege.org
