Pathways & Possibilities: From Cheltenham College to a U.S. Field Hockey Scholarship

Congratulations to Evie who has been offered a place to study at Quinnipiac University, Connecticut as a Student Athlete on a Field Hockey scholarship!

An accomplished sportswoman, Evie joined College in Lower Sixth as a hockey scholar, throwing herself into A Level Sports Science, Biology, and BTEC Psychology. During her two years at College, she has been awarded full colours in both hockey and swimming, remained a permanent fixture in our 1st XI, played in the England hockey talent academy festival and trained with Stourport Talent Academy hockey squad.

Her blend of academic subjects and extra-curricular qualifications has helped Evie to develop a sophisticated understanding of sport and physical activity, as well as psychological and sociological factors that impact athletic performance. Her academic engagement, coupled with her outstanding sporting ability provided the foundation for a successful application to study in the USA. Managing myriad pursuits, Evie has demonstrated resilience and high expectations of herself – managing deadlines and commitments with ease. Her focused but collaborative approach on the pitch and in the classroom demonstrate she is more than prepared for the next stage of her exciting academic and sporting journey at Quinnipiac University and we are delighted for her!

Our Pathways & Possibilities series celebrates the journeys of our pupils as they take their next steps beyond College, while supporting current pupils and parents with expert guidance along the way. Each week, we will share a mix of success stories and practical advice from our Higher Education and Careers team to help inspire and inform future pathways.
