The Big Band Perform at Cheltenham Jazz Festival

A confident and energetic performance saw the Cheltenham College Big Band entertain festival audiences once again.

The Big Band from Cheltenham College returned to the stage at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival this year, enjoying a fantastic day of live music, brilliant performances and glorious sunshine.

Opening the set with For Once in My Life, featuring a vocal solo from Otto, the band immediately set the tone for an energetic and entertaining performance. They then moved into I Wish, bringing the unmistakable groove and energy of Stevie Wonder to the festival stage.

Sophia then took centre stage with a lively rendition of Hallelujah I Love Her So, before the band confidently tackled Craig Skeffington’s technically demanding Trofeo de Bolos, showcasing both their musical skill and ensemble precision.

Wangari delivered a beautiful interpretation of Stormy Weather, before Daisy brought real energy to the performance with an electrifying version of Cry Me a River.

The set concluded in style with Where’s My Husband, featuring Maisy on lead vocals, bringing a memorable close to an outstanding performance.

After another successful appearance at the festival, the band is already looking forward to returning next year.
