Cheltenham community comes together to remember
Sunday 9 November 2025
Over recent days, the Cheltenham College community has gathered to honour the service and sacrifice of the British Armed Forces through a series of Remembrance services. These moments of reflection gave pupils and staff the opportunity to pause together and remember all those who have served in times of conflict and peace.
In Chapel, a heartfelt address was delivered by Major Richard Penny, formerly of the Queen’s Royal Hussars. He spoke about duty, unity, and the enduring strength of community, values shared by those in the Armed Forces and within College life.
Cheltenham College is proud of its long-standing connection to HM Armed Forces and its strong community of military families. Many pupils have parents currently serving, and the College continues to provide a sense of stability and belonging for those who move frequently between postings. These shared experiences form a special part of the College identity.
