College Celebrates the Opening of New Cricket Nets

Investing in the Future of Cricket at Cheltenham College

We are delighted to celebrate the opening of our brand-new cricket nets, a fantastic addition to Cheltenham College’s sporting facilities and a significant investment in the future of Cricket at the school.

Made possible through a generous legacy donation, these new nets represent a lasting gift that will benefit pupils for years to come. We are incredibly grateful for the foresight and kindness behind this contribution, which will help support both participation and performance across all age groups.

Cricket has long been an important part of life at Cheltenham College, and we are proud to be part of a vibrant local cricketing community here in Cheltenham. Our Prep School field is already a familiar venue on Sundays, with sessions run by Gloucestershire County Cricket Club in the Barn, and we regularly host fixtures that connect our pupils with the wider game, including MCC Foundation matches against College.

Just across the way at Reeves Field, Charlton Kings Cricket Club continues to play an important role in the local cricket landscape, further strengthening the strong sporting links within the area.

These new cricket nets enhance those connections even further. They provide pupils with the opportunity to practise with purpose, build confidence, and develop their skills in a dedicated space designed to support their progress and enjoyment of the game.

Just as importantly, they reinforce Cheltenham College’s place within the thriving cricket culture of Cheltenham and the surrounding community.

We look forward to seeing the positive impact these new facilities will have in the months ahead and to sharing many more Cricket successes from the nets very soon.
